With this in mind, the Austin Air HEGA filter places the True Medical HEPA paper as the outer shell of the filter with air passing  through paper first, before it passes through the carbon. Airborne particles are removed before they air contacts the carbon. This design makes available the total carbon surface area for only gas and odor removal, prolonging its useful life. Because it is lightweight, care and maintenance is easy.

The HealthMate Carbon/Zeolite Austin Air filters are for people requiring the best overall protection for clean air. It provides a broad coverage for a wide variety of gases, chemicals and allergens. The addition of zeolite improves coverage enables the filter to capture a greater degree of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) such as formaldehyde and ammonia. This filter is also good for those with dust , mold, hay fever and many other allergies.
